Dr Daniel Wako Murende Technical and Vocational College has once again demonstrated its commitment to excellence and inclusivity after its differently abled athletes delivered an outstanding performance at the Kenya Association of Technical Training Institutions (KATTI) National Championships held from June 10 to June 12, 2026, at the iconic Nyayo National Stadium in Nairobi. The championship brought together athletes from Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions across the country to compete at the highest level of collegiate sports. The college proudly celebrates the remarkable achievements of its athletes, whose determination, resilience, and competitive spirit earned them top honors on the national stage.
Outstanding Performances
Mike Wekesa emerged as one of the stars of the championships after winning two Gold Medals in the Upper Limb (UL) Category.
He first sprinted to victory in the 100 metres race, demonstrating explosive speed and athletic excellence. He then completed a remarkable double by claiming another Gold Medal in the 200 metres race, cementing his status as one of the most outstanding athletes in the competition.
Henry Ogachi added to the college’s medal tally by winning a Gold Medal in the Single Clutch (SC) Category 50 metres race. His impressive performance showcased determination, focus, and the competitive spirit that defines Dr Daniel Wako Murende TVC athletes.
Anthony Oduory showcased exceptional talent and determination by securing a Silver Medal in the Hearing Impairment Partial (HIP) Category Discus Throw. His performance reflected months of dedication and rigorous training, earning him a place among the nation’s top para-athletes.
The achievements of these athletes highlight the college’s commitment to creating an inclusive learning environment where every trainee has the opportunity to develop their talents and reach their full potential.
